Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco. I listened to the audiobook last year for Halloween Bingo at BookLikes, and it was so creepy and unsettling. Here's a brief review I posted at BL.
Currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The whole book doesn’t make me shiver in fear but there are scenes that have. From the section I’ve read so far, the scene where Claire meets Black Jack Randall made me shiver in fear and disgust (this is probably due to the fact I have watched the show first).
I don't read scary books anymore but as a kid I loved them. One of the ones that has stuck with me all this time is The Dollhouse Murders (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/750035.The_Dollhouse_Murders?ac=1&from_search=true)by Betty Ren Wright. It is about a young girl named Amy who is looking after her sister at her aunt's house. There is a dollhouse in the attic where strange noises can be heard and the dolls are never where Amy left them.
From what I remember this book kept me up as a kid and the dolls are seriously creepy. Plus I loved how the sisters relationship changes and grows throughout the story.
