Han Solo. Back in the day when I would read the novels (that came out after the original three movies), I thought he would be a kick ass father. Guess Kylo-Ren didn't share my opinion. Whoops.

I haven't read or seen Kylo yet, but this makes me laugh so much. :D

I still can't get how it's canon considering his parentage, etc.
I guess I should try to watch this summer. ;p

:)

Yeah I don't get it either and part of me hopes that there was a switch at birth thing going on that will be revealed in the last of the trilogy. It makes no sense why Han would name his son Ben. He wasn't that close to Obi Wan. I guess Princess Leia was but it just all seems strange. He was so absolutely different than Han. I am going to rewatch the first two before the last one comes out!

Canon tried too hard to be canon?

I have heard of people naming someone after someone someone else in the family respected.
That's a bad sentence. Lol

I just can't motivate myself to watch. :/ I want to someday though because maybe it will make sense.
Last I read the final movie means no more Skywalker legacy but..that just doesn't sit well with me. :/
Wasn't it always about them?

Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird." I love him so much, I refuse to read "Go Set a Watchman" for fear that it will ruin the first book for me in any way.

Our library has a shelf of books for sale and the Watchmen one has been sitting there a while. It’s brand new and they only want a quarter for it. Seems like others feel like you. lol

Aral Vorkosigan from Lois McMaster Bujold's Vor series.

The man runs half the freaking universe, but Every. Single. Day. he takes an hour for lunch, where he "bolts down a sandwich in 2 minutes" and spends the rest of the time sitting on the floor playing with his son.

I read a lot of Star Trek: TNG when I was a teen and even though he wasn't a father I always looked up to Jean-Luc Picard as a type of father figure. He was/is always so empathetic with others and willing to help those in need.

I'm having a hard time remembering all the father's, but from what I can..I think that Myles from the Alanna series was pretty cool. I always forget that he started the series a bit of drinker, but he's just so regal, and he adopted, recovered and ended up a power beside the king. It's hard to express how awesome he is without spoiling things. :D

Arthur Weasley. :) I'm also drawing a blank and he's all that's coming to mind, but I did love his affection for all things Muggle.

Thanks! I always thought he and Molly were great, if unconventional, parents. :)

This is soooooo tough, but I think I'm going to have to go with Ponyboy Curtis from The Outsiders.
