Have a great vacation! Thank you so much for putting up all these posts. They've been a lot of fun! Some of them really make you think.

22. Out of print. - I'm not sure I own or have read any books that are now out of print. I'll have to do some digging. But, I do remember owning a book in like the first grade called, Say Hello, Vanessa, and it was about this shy mouse, and I loved it so much, because I'm very shy, too, and especially was back then. I think it may possibly be out of print.

23. Made to read at school. - When I was in high school and we were choosing books to do reports on, my English teach didn't let me choose mine. She handed me a book and said, "You're reading this one." It was Pride and Prejudice. I loved it.

24. Hooked me into reading. - This is hard to answer, because I have loved reading for as far back as I can remember.

25. Never finished it. - Wolf Hall. Started it, couldn't get into it, took it back to the library. And that's very rare for me. I hardly even DNF a book.

26. Should have sold more copies. - I will need to think about this one.

27. Want to be one of the characters. - Harry Potter...and I don't necessarily want to be a specific character, I just want to live in that world.

28. Bought at my fave independent bookshop. - I have no independent bookshops anywhere near me. :(

29. The one I have reread most often. - Oh gosh...probably The Outsiders. I read it a lot when I was in school, and try to reread it at least every couple of years.

30. Would save if my house burned down. - Even with as big a book lover as I am, I have to say, none of them. Books can be replaced. My family and my pets would be my only priorities.

Have a great time. I'm gonna have to think about these!

22. Out of print. - nothing comes to mind. Can find most things as a digital copy.

23. Made to read at school. - I'm the King of the Castle by Susan Hill. To this day I haven't finished it.

24. Hooked me into reading. - fairy stories and nursery rhyme books as a child.

25. Never finished it - see number 23

26. Should have sold more copies - not a clue to be honest how many copies are sold. I like what I like and read what I read.

27. Want to be one of the characters - Oh God pretty much every book I've read! I can't narrow it down.

28. Bought at my fave independent bookshop - I usually shop online these days.

29. The one I have reread most often - The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough

30. Would save if my house burned down - my tablet and laptop.

Have fun on your vacay! :-)

22. Out of print. - Janie and the Giant. It was the first book I remember reading on my own. I told outofprint.com about it and thought it would make some cute merch, but then they have zero stuff on their site that is actually oop. smh

23. Made to read at school. There have been many. I guess the first one I remember was Lord of the Flies. This was in 9th grade.

24. Hooked me into reading. Like [livejournal.com profile] stellar_raven, I've always read. I guess it was my mom reading to me and taking me to the library all of the time when I was younger. Thanks, Mom! <3

25. Never finished it. Other than books I hadn't finished that I had to return to the library, a recent one that I purposefully didn't finish was Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl. I don't think I was in the right head-space to read it at the time and want to go back and try it again at some point.

26. Should have sold more copies. Uh, I guess Mur Lafferty's Shambling Guide series so it wouldn't be cancelled and I'd have more books to read in the series.

27. Want to be one of the characters. Er, I guess I wouldn't mind being in one of the fun books I've read. Certainly not a dystopia! XD

28. Bought at my fave independent bookshop. Hmm, I know I've bought some things from a local used bookstore, but I can't recall anything in particular. Maybe it was some books of sheet music. ETA: Just remembered that I bought some books from a 2nd & Charles (not exactly indie, but it's a small chain) late last year. Two were cookbooks for gifts (an Italian and Gone with the Wind) and an Anne of Green Gables cookbook for myself. The checkout lady was eyeing it, but there was only one.

29. The one I have reread most often. Not really a re-reader, but one I've read three times (twice for school, once on my own) is The Once and Future King by T.H. White. If you like the King Arthur legend or Disney's Sword in the Stone (cribs a section from this book), I'd rec reading it. Oh, and also add the Book of Merlyn, which I don't remember if it is collected in the bigger collection or not. TOaFK has Pellinore and Morgaine and Morgause, etc. IIRC, so it's a bit more detailed that the typical King Arthur story.

30. Would save if my house burned down. Ah, I dunno. I'd be more likely to save pictures. I guess yearbooks, since those would be hard or impossible to replace.

22. Out of print.
I can't think of one right now

23. Made to read at school.
I've read so many books at school but one I clearly remember and one I enjoyed was "Pillars of the earth" from Ken Follet.
It's also in school that I read my first book in English, making me realise I could read even if I didn't understand all the words. It saw "Angels and Insects" from AS Byatt

24. Hooked me into reading.
That's hard as I've always loved to read but as a child, I couldn't let go of the Smurfs comics!

25. Never finished it.
The last one would be "If Cats Disappeared from the World "

26. Should have sold more copies.
Can't think of one right now.

27. Want to be one of the characters.
Not a surprising answer but "Harry Potter".

28. Bought at my fave independent bookshop.
I don't go to independent bookshops.

29. The one I have reread most often.
"Harry Potter and the philosopher stone". Read twice in French, twice in English and once in Italian.

30. Would save if my house burned down.
My Pleiade version of "The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri

22. I'm pretty sure the first Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series is no longer in print. You have to get lucky and buy used copies online.

23. I read the Grapes of Wrath in a day and a half for the first and last Honors English class I ever took because no one told me there was summer homework and we had a huge test on it. Don't do that.

24. I've always read but I think as a kid the books I read the most were Nancy Drew. In grade school I donated the first 20 or so of the series to the school library and they put a fancy 'donated by' sticker in them. I wonder if they're still there to this day. :D I was tight with the librarians. ;p

25. The Yearling. I remember forcing myself to read this because at the time I had a strict 'don't ever quit a book' policy but..this one broke me. :( It was sad to me because everyone said it was so good and a classic. I was young and naive. ;p

26. I don't know how many copies the series I like have sold..but it always kind of amazed me that none of Tamora Pierce's books were made into movies or a t.v. series. I would love to see that.

27. This book is not published. <3

28. Sadly, I don't have a fave because we don't have any in the area. :( But if anyone has one I'd love to hear about them! Someday I want to go to Powell's in Oregon. Does that count? <3

29. Ella Enchanted. This is my go to book. I read it to cheer up. To relax. To laugh. For inspiration. Etc. I probably read it five or so times a year?

30. Family first because they are my living books. But my laptop because my books are on it. ^^;;
