Day 2
The Adrien English series by Josh Lanyon. It's a five or six book series of m/m romance with murder mystery. The books do follow on from each other so should be read in the correct order and not as stand-alones. Funny, action packed, also makes me cry in some places, and a lovely believable slow-burn relationship development.

Book one in the series is Fatal Shadows.

Damn, now I want to re-read them all again amd i really haven't got time! (Although all the books in the series are quite short, possibly a little longer than novella length certainly for the first book, later books get a bit longer).

I would highly recommend Spectred Isle (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35118935-spectred-isle)by KJ Charles.

It is an awesomely well written romance that takes place after WW1 where magic is real plus it delves into the English mythology of the Green Man.

Day #2
Red, White and Royal Blue (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41150487-red-white-royal-blue)

When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

A History of the World in 100 Objects
(https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9553383-a-history-of-the-world-in-100-objects?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=IBbXfQNHKY&rank=3)
Neil MacGregor's A History of the World in 100 Objects takes a bold, original approach to human history, exploring past civilizations through the objects that defined them. Encompassing a grand sweep of human history, A History of the World in 100 Objects begins with one of the earliest surviving objects made by human hands, a chopping tool from the Olduvai gorge in Africa, and ends with objects which characterise the world we live in today

Day #2
Nor Iron Bars a Cage by Kaje Harper (https://www.amazon.com/Iron-Bars-Cage-Kaje-Harper-ebook/dp/B00FNXC8EU/)

Kaje Harper is one of my favorite m/m authors ever, and this is one of her best. It's m/m fantasy romance at its best - a traumatized sorcerer, the old friend who now works for the king, an adventure with dark intrigue...I could go on and on.

Oh, and did I mention that it's free? Harper wrote this for a Goodreads group, an amazing feat because it's amazing and long and she wrote it in what seems like record time, and has consistently offered it for free to readers. You've got nothing to lose if you like the genre. :)

Day #3
Watermark by Vanitha Sankaran (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0061849278/)

This is a gorgeous story about a mute albino girl in Medieval France who learns her father's trade of paper-making. While it can be a little slow, it's so lyrical and compelling, it's totally worth it.

The Complete Persepolis (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/991197.The_Complete_Persepolis)by Marjane Satrapi

I loved this book. The way the author tells of her childhood and adolescence in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution, it is so heartfelt and well written.

Day #4
The Ice People (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/106753.The_Ice_People)

I read this one in French when I was in high school and it's still one of my favourite SF books!

When a French expedition in Antarctica reveals ruins of a 900,000 year old civilization, scientists from all over the world flock to the site to help explore & understand. The entire planet watches via global satellite tv, mesmerized, as they uncover a chamber in which a man & a woman have been in suspended animation since, as the French title suggests, 'the night of time'. The woman, Eléa, is awakened. Thru a translating machine she tells the story of her world, herself & her husband Paikan & how war destroyed her civilization.

Day #4
Everybody's probably read this, but I don't care because it's one of my favorite books ever: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (https://smile.amazon.com/Wrinkle-Time-Quintet/dp/0312367546/)

Yes, it's a children's book. Yes, it tends to oversimplify. I don't care. Meg Murry was the first heroine I ever read who made me feel like maybe I wasn't such a freak and that being smart and different could be strengths instead of weaknesses. I love her to pieces.

Day #5
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (https://smile.amazon.com/Where-Crawdads-Sing-Delia-Owens/dp/0735219095/)

The author is a nature writer, and this was her first fiction novel. It's about a young girl in 1950s North Carolina who gets abandoned at a young age and has to survive on her own in the marshes of NC. This is probably stretching the "focusing on nature" aspect of today's rec, but honestly, her environment is just as much a character as she is, and the descriptions are evocative and many. I cried more than once reading this.
